to Wilhelmine Springs Ranch (WSR) WSR is located in the foothills
of the Cumberland Plateau just a few minutes from Lynchburg, Tennessee.
All of our horses are fully registered with the Spotted Saddle Horse Breeders'
and Exhibitors Association and/or the National Spotted Saddle Horse
Association. Bloodlines include some of the finest spotted saddle horses,
including Rebel Rouser, Silver Lady, Modern Rock, Mr. T, and Pride's Successor.
All horses are naturally bred and humanely trained. We have been breeding and training quality
horses for fifteen years. The horses are
the result of selective breeding with attention to genetics, attitude, conformation,
and versatility.

Our
Horses:
If you are looking for a horse
that can be used as an all-around family mount but can also dazzle the
competition at shows with its agility and flashy appearance. The Spotted Saddle
Horse may be your horse. This breed has it all-- strength, disposition,
gait, beauty and versatility. Our horses are colorful, versatile, and good
natured and best of all, have an extremely comfortable gait for riding.
The required "Saddle Gait" of the Spotted Saddle Horse includes the
stepping pace, fox-trot, single-foot, flat walk, running walk, pace, rack
or combination of all gaits. The SSH can also perform a canter must perform a smooth, easy, non trotting gait to be eligible for
registration... Spotted Saddle Horses were developed
as a saddle horse to excel in Reining, speed events such as Barrel Racing, Pole
Bending and Team Penning as well as Trail and Show horses. Our horses are of medium size and weight, generally range in height from
13.3 to 16 hands and weigh from 900 to 1100 pounds.
Colorful Bloodlines:
Our horses are bred to provide spectacular colors and unique markings. We
have horses in a variety of colors—glossy blacks, bright
whites, rich browns. Most horses exhibit
two main color patterns, tobiano and overo. Some have blue eyes. All of
our horses are naturally bred with both the sire and the dam located on the
ranch. All horses are fully registered. Our horses graze on natural
pastures and drink from spring fed ponds.
Registries:
- The Spotted Saddle Horse Breeders and Exhibitors
Association (Known as SSHBEA) which is an organization established in 1985
to promote the Spotted Saddle Horse. To accomplish this, SSHBEA has
instituted a program for affiliating horse shows, licensing Judges, and
approving Designated Qualified Persons, and has established official rules
for registering and showing of the Spotted Saddle Horse.
- The National Spotted Saddle Horse Association was formed
in 1979, NSSHA is dedicated to establishing a uniform breed saddle
horse that is naturally gaited and performs without the use of punishing
training aids or substances.
- The American Spotted Horse Association established in
1999. Registry based on promoting the sound, gaited western style Spotted
Horse.
